What a great idea to dye the fabric with fennel. I have never tried to dye fabric but I think I might have to investigate the possibilities. Your puppy is gorgeous... Good start on number 2. Can't wait to see how you finish them all :)
Thank you, all. I am yet uncertain what the puppies will turn out. Was playing around with the idea of an ornament, but might just add to the small finishes that will eventually decorate a bed cover.
I am very lucky that mum decided to get into dyeing fabric. I find my favourite colours come from onion skins. The amount you put will vary in shade from beige to yellow (for normal onions); and either green or burgundy depending on aluminium or vinegar mordant (for red onion skin). Its very expensive if you dye many colours ... 3 or 4 packs of onions to provide the skin for particular batch. Lighter shades less. It doesn't help that my entire family hates onions. And there are other materials ... which can get a bit expensive.

Looking good sweetie! Keep it up :)
Do you have an idea how you'll finish them after stitching?
