Cat and Robin Christmas Card

On Friday I bought 'Cross Stitch Crazy', issue 171.  From there I got a bit side tracked as I had to stitch the lovely freebie by Margaret Sherry of a "Cat and Robin Christmas Card".  I've just finished stitching the card, and here is a picture of it.

Mouse with Kite

I've a new finish to show you.  It's Margaret Sherry's free Spring Card Kit from "Cross Stitch Crazy",
issue 163.

I should have stitched the grass in 1 stand of thread, but I did not like how it looked, so stitched it in 2 stands instead.

Until next time, Happy Stitching Everyone

Waiting for Santa & Ice Skating Penguin

Hi Everyone

I've finished stitching Margaret Sherry's new freebie "Waiting for Santa".  He's just so cute, I had to stitch him straight away.  Fortunately, I had all but one of the Anchor colours, but I found a similar colour to replace it.

I've also stitched an Ice Skating Penguin from "Enjoy Cross Stitch at Christmas!"  Issue no. 1, which came out in 2008.  This magazine supplied all the threads and aida fabric.  I used the threads provided and hated them.  I also used three strands instead of two, so that it covered the fabric better.  I love the designs but not the threads.

SAL #2 - SANTA FINISHED

Everyone is doing ever-so-well  with the Christmas SAL.  I have also finished my Santa.  I have really enjoyed stitching the pair.  I have decided not to put a pompom on top on them.  I think they look good either way.

Snowman

Hello Everyone

It's been some time since I last posted.   We are having an "Indian Summer" at the moment.    And here I am stitching a Snowman, which I have now finished.   I have stitched it on blue aida and not red, to make it stand out better.  I'm now stitching Father Christmas to complete the SAL.

New Haircut

Cross Stitcher Magazine has a new freebie by Margaret Sherry called "New Haircut", which can be found here.  It was posted on Monday and I have finished stitching it today (Wednesday).    The most difficult bit was the writing with all the french knots.  And here it is.

New Haircut!

Photographer Cat

New finish - Photographer Cat by Margaret Sherry.  One of the "Sports & Hobbies" designs.  I just had to stitch this cat.  It reminded me of myself.  Camera in hand and hoping to capture the right image, especially birds.  Isn't he gorgeous!

Stitching Cat

Hi Everyone

It's been some time since I last posted something.  But I've finally stitched a "stitching cat", which comes from the Margaret Sherry Alphabet, "X" for cross stitch.  But I have not stitched the "X".  I started it and finished it today!  And here it is.  You can find the chart here.

Hoppy Easter

Here is my latest finishes, which fits in with the Easter season.  The first is "Bunny with Easter Bonnet" from Quick and Easy Cross Stitch Magazine Issue 103.  I have changed the pattern slightly around the eyes, so that I did not need to use French knots.  I'm quite happy with the outcome.

And finally here's a picture of a juggling bunny from Cross Stitcher Magazine  Issue 237.  So, of course he is juggling Easter Eggs.  I've changed the colours of the eggs, so that I could use up some little left over scraps of thread.

Birthday Princess

I've entered a challenge on MSCSG.  What we were asked to do was stitch one of Margaret Sherry's Sketchies and be creative, use painted fabric, coloured threads and add a little touch of yourselves! It can be a new saying, buttons, lace, anything you want.  We were given two weeks to complete the challenge which ends today.  So this is what I have come up with.  Adding Mill Hill glass seed beads 00553 and Metallic threads.

"Kiss Me" Valentine Mice

I have had a letter published in Cross Stitcher Magazine Issue 238.  I sent them a picture of my "Kiss Me" Valentine Card.  They cropped the picture to show the mice only, and also reversed the picture, so that the heart shaped balloon was on the left and the rose on the right.

"Kiss Me" Valentine Mice.

Here is what my letter says in the magazine:-

Valentine smooches
When I received my copy of issue 236 I completely fell in love with Margaret Sherry's kissing mice (above) and dropped everything I was doing, so that I could find some fabric and threads to start stitching it straight away!  I've just finished it this morning and had to take a photo to share with you.  This will make such a great Valentine's card for my husband - he's going to love it.

And yes, he did love it.

Let's Bee Friends

Well, I've finally finished "Let's Bee Friends".  I stitched him for the March SAL on the Yahoo Margaret Sherry Cross Stitch Group (MSCSG).  I first started him in June 2010 as he was a free cover kit in Cross Stitcher Magazine 226.  I had a few problems with the kit as I like to do everything in 2 threads and not 1.  So I had quite a bit of unpicking until I got it right.  The flowers are in 2 threads and done in Anchor thread.  The cover kits threads were not Anchor, so I used what I had in my own stash.  Thanks to the group SAL, he is now finished and not a UFO anymore.

Some time ago I stitched an Archie Bear card for my friends Birthday.  I've just realised that I have not shared it with you, so here he is now.
